Dr. Richard Longbottom is a renowned specialist in Implant Dentistry, Perioscopy and Periodontology. Richard completed his undergraduate education at Otago University in 1981, and continued his postgraduate training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, in the United States. He has been working in New Zealand since 2001 to bring healthy and beautiful smiles to patients.

Dr. Longbottom is well regarded amongst his peers, and lectures in New Zealand and abroad on advancements implant dentistry, periodontology and perioscopy. Recognising the importance of keeping up with the latest advancements in his field, he continues to devote considerable time to attending conferences and seminars. 

Dr. Longbottom is a member of numerous professional organisations including the New Zealand Dental Association; American Academy of Periodontology; Academy of Osseointegration; and the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology. 

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Richard Longbottom went to the USA with his parents for 15 years and returned to Dunedin completing his undergraduate dental degree.  After working in Auckland’s Eastern suburbs, Richard completed his 3 year residency at the prestigious University of North Carolina, in periodontology in 2001. Richard now leads his specialist teams at the Remuera and Takapuna practices.
